2008 128i 6MT for sale
Putting up my 2008 Sedona Rot 128i 6MT for sale. Has 171k miles. The car has been excellently maintained mechanically. Cosmetically, this car is not the best. No accidents. I’m the 3rd owner. Car is a blast to drive. A lot of care and preventative maintenance has been done to this car. See attached spreadsheet for many of the details but in short, over the last 30k miles: new spark plugs & coils, gaskets (valve cover, oil pan, rear main, oil filter housing), water pump, radiator (upgraded CSF), new coolant hoses, clutch & flywheel, AC evaporator, oil filter cap, pads, trans flush, diff flush, parking brake Has some good upgrades as well. M-sport seats, TRW M3 control arms (all of them), koni yellow shocks with Dinan springs, BMW short shifter, 3 stage intake with stage 1 Active Autowerke tune, 135i muffler, BMW performance air intake, stainless steel brake lines, CSF radiator, Sony headunit with android auto/carplay and back up camera, Stoptech Sport pads and rotors and more. Car will also come with a set of uninstalled Hotchkiss sway bars, rear subframe bushing inserts, and set of 17” winter wheels and tyres and some other parts (filters, etc.) Currently rides on Michelin PS4 with at least 5/32” tread left. The bad is the car is in rough cosmetic shape. Lots of rock chips on the front bumper and hood, peeling clear coat off plastic body parts. Some small parking lot dents. Also AM/FM radio does not work. Never bothered me because I use android auto and Bluetooth exclusively. Interior shows wear. headlight fogging The Sony headunit does work with most of the steering wheel controls. This car is a blast to drive and with lots of love, no doubt will continue to put a smile on the enthusiast driver’s face. I have take it to 4 HPDE events and the car performed well with no brake fade or overheating. It’s an excellent track car. You can also fit all tools and tires inside the car to drive to the track and back. I also used to ferry my kids around in the back and it easily fits forward facing car seats with ease. I was going to turn it into a track car eventually but stumbled across a Cayman of similar vintage and had to try it out. Compared to the Porsche, this 128i feels like a muscle car. Lots of low-end power and torque and pulls evenly through the rev range (with the tune, before the tune didn’t have much life above 5500 rpm). It’s definitely a better daily driver than the Porsche (automatic headlights, automatic wipers, comfortable ride, heated seats, dual zone climate control, useable cup holders, etc.). Things I would do to the car next if I kept it: change the wheel studs (these are a wear item), consider new coilovers, rear subframe bushings and maybe an LSD. probably refinish the headlights or swap for angel eyes. This car isn’t for everyone and I understand that. This car is for the driving enthusiast who would prefer the girl-next-door for an actual fun time. Asking for $9k but open to offers and negotiation. Didn't want to sell it but wife says I can only have 1 toy and registration is due end of next month. Will thoroughly clean the car prior to sale. Almost my car. Great bargain for someone. Thank you for the good picture of the drivers seat. MOST people don't do this and I have to think they are hiding major cracks in the seat material.

My old car! Glad to see it's been driven often and taken care of mechanically. Perfect track car candidate which were my plans before selling to the OP. Sent it to a local friend who has been looking for one lately.

Haha yes it is! Car has been a blast to own and daily drive. Good track car and a great daily. Has automatic wipers, lights. Good features back in 2008. On the limit, it's very progressive and easy to drive fast.

Glad to hear you’ve enjoyed it! I ended up regretting selling and bought another one in late 2021. Great cars!

I'm interested, looking for a 128i to replace my e39. Sounds like it's mechanically pretty solid, which is a big selling point for me. Still available?
Thanks, Steve |
