How do I reset distance til brake service in the i-drive?

I had a local shop replace rear brake pads, rotors and sensor, but they did not reset the distance until service. The service says replacement due in 3,000 miles, but they are brand new. Is there a simple way to reset this?

by trip reset button.. turn the key without starting the engine.. hold the trip reset button till the menu appears and toggle between menus by pressing the reset button again..
