Yeah I'd love to, but the vehicle is my wife's daily, so she needs to approve... Vids first...

I just did my muffler mod on Thursday. Love it, and very pleased with the exhaust note now.

Cost me $220, I cut and prepped my muffler and had the exhaust shop weld it back together.

Awesome job man. Out of curiosity, where in CA do you live? I used to live in the Central Coast area as well...

And please please please... Post some vids of the exhaust note!

For the love of sweet baby Jesus, thank you... This thread has needed these vids forever. Now, the next question, was that with M mode on (flaps open) or not..? The sound was pretty good, just enough noise when you get on it.

Is it very noticeable in the cabin??

Yes M mode with flaps open. Inside the cabin with your windows up, you will notice a slightly better exhaust note.

With the windows down the exhaust note is better.

But outside the car from behind going down the freeway it sounds awesome.

If anyone does this make sure you don't cut the exhaust off. undo from the downpipes. if anyone suggest to cut it don't let them touch your bmw.

What I did is I kept the smaller muffler but moved it where the bigger muffler was and eliminated the bigger one. On the place of the smaller muffler I put straight pipe (pic #5).
Sound of the exhaust very happy, I had the eisenmann race and honestly I like this one more since I can even use the factory valves.
By the way got one for sale if anyone intrested.
I will also try to post a video this weekend.

Thank you.

Thread bump. I've been looking at F10 forums because they seem to do more mods since there's more of them in sports cars vs us in sport SAV's. I've seen muffler deletes on countless BMW's in the past and apparently they're doing it on these as well. I'm still searching, but has anyone with an X*M done the same?

Edit - found one person, but no pics of how they did it - http://www.e46fanatics.com/forum/sho...=997292&page=2

you lose the best part of all new exhausts the ability to turn it on and off. cutting the muffler that way the thread describes is the best bang for your buck.
