No X5M all season tire options anymore??

So my Bridgstone's are on their last legs and I decided I want to go with Continental DWS for my next set, but sadly the rears (315/35/20) have gone on national backorder and from what I've heard Continental won't be making anything new until next year sometime. I have a trip to the snow coming up in a month and I really need to get a set of all seasons on the car. I've been calling all over the place and no one has rears left.

Any advice? I'm assuming the Duelers are a horrible tire to drive to a 3-4 day snow trip in Tahoe? And I really don't want to buy a 2nd set of wheels. I figured the DWS would serve me well through the winter/rainy season and if I felt like the performance wasn't up to par, I could easily switch to the Duelers for the summer time.

I am a strong advocate for dedicated winter and summer setups but its seems like that wouldn't benefit you much in cali. I would def urge you not to take the x5m on summers for a 3-4 day snowy trip.. it will spell disaster esp if you are on mountain roads etc. Rental car maybe? If you can't source the DWS tires I don't see any other good alternative for you but I won't drive an e70 w/summers again after the first and last time I drove my 4.8i on summers through mild michigan snow fall lol

Yea rental is an option, but renting a comparably-sized SUV for 4 days is like 70-80% of the cost of tires so I'm trying to avoid that route. Not to mention driving the X5 would be far more comfortable and enjoyable.

Craiglist , eBay or local use tire places . Can possibly find a decent set for a good price . Specially if is for this trip only

Nitto Motivo. All season, and I drove in snow and ice with no issue. Sizes and load/speed ratings all check out.

You should check discounttiredirect seller on eBay for great deals. I'm not a paid spokesperson!

The Nitto's are almost gone here in the greater WA area... A few stores had fronts, only one store had rears, just 2 left... It's just a seasonal supply demand thing. High demand, low supply in the Winter...

I did a quick eBay check and there are some available. Discount Tire and Americas Tire are same company if you have them near you. Otherwise take to any shop with a Hunter balancer and you're good to go.

Personally, I got a set with an eBay promo for less than $700 this summer. Add road hazard for $100 for 5 years. My opinion these tires are the best value out there. And obviously, the quality and performance are right on part with the DWS having tried both.

Thanks for the tip on the Nitto Motivo. Looks like I might be able to get a set of those.

Personally, I go dedicated snow/wheel, summer wheel. With the Ms, the tires are just too wide and there's too much power to go all season. ...unless you're tired of your car and have good insurance.

I have Motivo's on my X5M and Jeep. I haven't driven them in snow yet but they're not bad in the dry and wet.

DWS's are a superior tire though.

All good points but let's keep the thread in perspective.

I run winters and summers but the OP is looking for all seasons. DWS are sold out and he lives in CA. The Nitto are the only other true all season option.

Switch out on the oem wheels for a few weeks a year and he's good.

Am in Tacoma WA and was able to get a set of Toyo Proxie S/T II's (at a good price) and so far not bad. Took a trip up to White Pass skiing a week ago and no problems but streets were pretty clear. However rank up there with Nitto Motivo's in my book. Good luck
