IND Painted front reflectors
So I tried installing the IND painted front reflectors this past weekend, note I have the ones with the cameras built in, and I couldn't do it. I removed the 3 bolts from the lower 1/3 part of the hub, the others around the top and back seemed to plastic rivets. I could not peel the hub liner back far enough to get into the inside of the fender. I didn't want to snap the fender flare and I feared that would happen. Do I have to take the wheel off and remove the hub liner to access the reflector? Also am I able to pop out the plastic rivets around the hub without damaging them to the point they won't go back in?

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho....php?p=5370333 Not sure if you have an M Sport, or if that even makes a difference? I'm currenly looking for an X5 and will be doing the painted front reflectors - I'm curious myself how the camera/camera wiring is disconneted (once you get to them)? |

Yes I have an M-Sport, I did see that DIY but the M-Sport is completly different. There is a fog light and radiator behind the grill so there is no way to access from the front. The painted reflector from IND has what looks like 2 holes in the back where the camera would screw into it, if I ever figure out how to get those reflectors out I'm hoping there is enough slack in the camera wire. I'm hoping someone on here has done it themselves.

There is this one but it's for an F10 M5, similar to what I would need to do but I think I would have to remove the entire hub liner because of the flares. I'll try and take some pics of mine this weekend.

I ended up having the dealer do it, they did it for free (see other recent post about painted reflectors). The bodyshop they sent it to said they had to remove part of the inside plastic wheel well. If your going to DIY you may want to get a couple of those plastic rivets that go around 2/3 of the well past the bolts as they may break.

Did you try the DIY I linked to above? If your signature is current it doesn't look like you have an M Sport (no M Sport in 2007), so the DIY should be helpful. On the non M Sport it doesn't appear you need to go through the wheel well...
