As some others I wonder if it would be possible to separate these excellent F1 regular posts into one commentary and one picture post? It's almost impossible to follow the one thread if you are on the move with your cellular data plan.

Mercedes back on top with FP2! Followed by Seb and then the two B-Version Ferraris.

Solstice: I was just a "stand in" for this stop. E90Slam should decide how he wants to handle his F1 threads. If there were more comments, though, the photos would be broken up amongst more pages and your load time would be greatly decreased.

Understood, E90Slam is the king of these posts and they are greatly appreciated in any form. It was just a suggestion since I don't open them at all in my cellular device both due to load time and byte cost...

Good to see Ferrari getting closer. It would be awesome with having another contender poking in the hornets nest that is the Nico/Lewis battle.

I'm glad you brought this up. Even on a computer, having a discussion in these threads with all of the pictures is pretty lumpy. Breaking them in two (Race Pics vs Race Discussion) is a great idea!

Well there are two options, I suppose

a) I can pull the photos out of this thread and create a new one with all the Canada GP photos
b) We can wait until Osterreich (Austria) and we can try the two thread idea then since Canada is already here.

...up to you guys...

It's up to you, man. I know for me, I usually don't discuss the races as much as I would like to because of it and, with Hamilton winning races while whining incessantly, I anticipate much venting in the weeks to come!

No need for thanks, guys. I like the photos a lot, yes, but the discussion is an important aspect here too so if separating the comments from the images will help that along then I'm on board too

These observations from the Senna Corner. The two Silver Arrows nail this portion of the track - every time. Alonso seems to will the Ferrari through it and looks fast. Kimi looks as if it's done in steps - he throws it in, corrects, then powers out. Vettel was almost as good as the MB pair. Ricciardo never seemed to get a handle on it (he look better in practice last year in the Torro Rossa). Others who impressed in this part of the track, Bottas, Button and Massa (in that order). The Catterhams and both Marusias were a mess - wheel lockup entering, followed with understeer.
Good day at the track and the sound impresses. No, there's no scream, but we liked the tone, the turbos spinning, and some neat noises we weren't sure of (probably regenerative things going on).

It's Great to have a first person perspective. Your observations seem right on point and track (no pun intended) with the rankings
Thanks!

Hehe, too funny to watch and listen to Nico and Lewis during the post quali interview. Seems like Mercedes has put some fear in them and tightened the reins on the public statements. Awkward but entertaining.

On a general note I think it's interesting see what a good "loser" Vettel is vs what a poor winner he is. The humble pie he is eating this season seem to have matured him a lot. I don't have an issue with the "too bad" comment when he was told to let Ricciardo pass. To not let someone pass when racing for position is a lot different than passing Webber when you re both told to hold position. In the first case it's a fair fight with both drivers doing there best, in the 2nd case you take advantage of a team mate that think you re not racing. Kudos for not whining like a baby at every chance taken his quick fall from great results.

I mentioned earlier that this was the last year of Montreal's contract with F1. They just signed a 10 year deal for $187million so they'll still be visiting Montreal for quite some time
