Frame/Bezel/surround around CIC screen
Folks,
I need help finding the black frame that goes around the CIC screen on 2011 X5? Is that even available as a part? I googled all the numbers posted on the frame sticker but no luck. i have paint feeling off the one i currently have? Its plastic, but seems like the plastics is either flaking or something similar .. I was thinking if i can't find a new or good condition used frame/bezel i might just get a black matt spray can and just do that.. Any thoughts or help find a new/old good condition part? |

If you can remove the trim, wrap it in 3M DiNOC film. Can get real close to OE, or give it a unique look and last much longer than OE ... plus it is replaceable if you get tired of the look.

I have similar kind of peeling on the plastic next to the Nav button on center console. It's as if the plastic is layered, and the top layer been scratched off. I can see this happen due to normal use of the Nav button - my wife's long nail could easily be scratching it repeatedly.

and when they replaced it under warranty: This is what they replaced on mine. Since these are high-wear components, perhaps others can use the part numbers to get their replaced that might no longer be under warranty. 51169164485 - Trim plate FRONT COMPONENTS, middle, from 10/09 ($60.55) 65829240956 - Switch assy FRONT COMPONENTS, low, high from 10-09 ($221.32) 61319116587 - Repair kit FRONT COMPONENTS, shift knob ($67.67) 51416975791 - Pull strap panel w/auto dim, black Left ($18.59) 61319239901 - Switch, Multifunction steering wheel ($209.20) 52107162235 - Finisher, upper rail, front, left ($69.32) |
