You won't lose traction especially if you have new tires. Maybe some wheel chirp but that's it.

I had no clue they can track how many times you've launched it... there goes my resale value.

If I set the traction to OFF will it loose traction? Thinking there're 315 in the rear it should be hard to do a burnout.?
I was only stock for the break in period and never launched it stock. I know my buddy would get all four tires spinning in his stock x5m (but his tires were a little worn, just like jimshorts said it'll stick well with new tires), its nothing crazy that you wouldn't be able to control though. You should be fine in MDM or full off

Is launch control significantly faster than just stomping on the gas?

Hmm, because one of the things I thought about the X5M is that it does not feel overwhelmingly fast. Maybe I needed to play with the settings more? Currently cross shopping that against a couple of a Audi diesels and the new MDX…

Thats something characteristic about the car. Its masks speed very well. I'm cutting sub 4 second 0-60 runs but my stock b8 s4 feels more visceral when you punch it (that'll change once I get these catless DP's put in, still on dinan tune). I think the suspension setup on the car causes it to feel like it isn't going as fast as it really is.

Your instructions worked. Car went full attack!
Haha! Can imagine how fast it would be with a 640hp tune.

Glad it worked! It just takes a few times to get used to the process. Scheduled to have my downpipes installed June 12th so I can't wait to see how it will launch then!

How much power are you looking to get after DP install?

How do they tell? Is there a way we can check without having the dealer do it? I'm curious to know how many times it has been run. I have never used it.

Is it possible it can be reset?

This is also something I would have liked to know before purchasing the vehicle.

Diagnostics, they plug it in to your OBD port and can tell you. At least thats what I think my SA did, I'll ask him next time I'm in there and find out exactly how he did that. Thats how they do it for my audi as well

Ok cool. I have all of the diagnostic and coding software. Maybe someone with coding experience would know.
