X6 4.4tt tuning/flash/ecu options

Seems most of the stuff and posts out there are for the 3.0tt, what are the different options and prices and any experiences with tunes for the 4.4tt.

And should the tune be good enough, or would a remus be really neccessary to get the most out of it.

I am doing my ECU remaping tomorrow. Will be able to let you know. I had told the tuner that i had fitted with Hartge Exhuast, according to them with a modify exhuast without valve control in the exhaust will perform even better. I had also fitted with sprint booster directy after the exhaust upgrade because without the valve control in the exhaust the car loose some low end. The Sprint Booster fix it. No regret to fix the Sprint Booster.

First post aswell!! been a long time lurker but having taken delivery of a titanium silver 5.0 x6 2 weeks ago im going to be alot more active in these forums! Coming from an SL55 AMG the x6 is def a beast, but doesnt offer the same neck snapping torque of my AMG. Im really looking to step it up! im also looking for a tune, but all ive been able to find is a company called SIngh Autosport which i have never heard of and i'm kinda gunshy about handing over my 80G beast to them. Anyone have any feedback on them?? Also AUDIOQUEST who is tuning your beast?

DrEvil- No I didnt i drove both and the difference was pretty obvious the Perf. Uprade def pulled noticeably harder! I ended up getting an 09 Executive Demo and there was no way for me to get it done i just figured i could do the same or better for cheaper on the aftermarket, but as I see their really isnt much.

AudioQuest- Hmm powerchip i just looked on there website and they dont have an X6 tune listed must be brand new and hasnt made it on there yet. Do you know a ballpark number of performance gains? Would they be able to help me in New York?

Also has anyone heard of Singh Autosport and have any feedback? Def dont want to hand the brains of my beast over to any Joe Schmoe

Here is the link for powerchip X6 50i. I think is about 351KW
http://www.powerchipgroup.com/produc...sp?pid=Bmw0271

Some other company quote me above 370kw but I still stick to what I think is good enough. Most important Australia base.

Are you plaaning on this? It would be interesting to see a before and after dyno. This engine has a huge upside potential.

There it is! Ok its not under the North American section but is for Australia hmm i wonder if theyd be able to help me out. Yes that would be awesome to see some before and after dyno sheets or at least have a review from a unbiased customer.

Random- what grades of gasoline are sold in Australia?

I belive they can help you out. It is a upload and down load thing. 2 hours I was told to get it done. We use 90 to 98 but I only use 98. Got to go for the tuning now.

Dang, $2495 for a software tune. I don't even thing Dinan charges that much. Even with the exchange, that's still like 2300 bucks USD.

Well it is Australia. Every tuner charge about the same price wherever you go. Just got it tune. Sorry no chance to step on it, big traffic. But can tell a big different when put it on m/s gear.

May take a little while to settle in before response is consistant...

I am so looking forward to your review. Can BMW detect that you've changed the programming in the ECU?

I can see you are from Sydney too. You are welcome to try on my car if you are considering ECU remapping. (PM me) The biggest benefit in the remapping is the fuel economy. Before I only manage 440km per tank now I can do at least 500km. Have a try first to see if you like it. But mine is fitted with a Hartge exhaust system, it is a either you like it or hate it system. When you start the engine in the morning everybody will look where is the V8 coming from. Sound no complaint the only thing I dont like about the exhaust is that sometime it is very irritating on certain gear it rattle a little and the noise is not comfortable to the ears. But I also can see some people love that. I am someone who prefer comfort than Vroom Vroom. I might change it back to stock but will still keep the tip from hartge. If my Mrs complaint again. I really like the 4 pipe.

About BMW detecting. IMO I dont know. I had tell them I had done a remapping in my first service, because I need to fit in a second battery to my system that also require some changes in the program. They tell me most of the people who done a remapping aways have some problem with their exhaust system later. I will find out for you what problem it is. But once the service manager saw my Hartge Exhaust without the original airvalve install he told me I have done it right. I dont really understand what he mean. I was in a rush and didnt ask him why. I will find out more.

Haha. I actually STILL have the SL55 AMG and agree about the acceleration. The biggest difference as far as I can tell is that you can experience the neck-snapping torque right off the bat at very low RPMs... However, with the Singh Autosports tune and the 600lbft torque on the X6, at about 1800-2000 rpms you really get an incredible rush of power and acceleration... The SL sounds better though (silencers removed) and last night I actually broke the rear end loose when I stepped on it at 60mph... can't do that with the X6... haha
