ECUProgram Calgary Ab
Hey guys just curious on everyone's experience with ECU Programming here in Calgary. I have heard nothing but good news, and my first visit left me feeling very comfortable. These guys seem very knowledgeable and I feel we are almost lucky to have them locally,
In fact I am excited to get my M behaving the way it should! |

Thanks for Link UpstateX5M I can appreciate your sarcasm but when I googled it myself a lot of discussion was not around X5/6M.
Roychimac thanks for your feedback that is what I am looking for. Its always nice to hear similar experiences to re insure our choices of mods we choose. |

I'm a bit skeptical of their dyno numbers. Their dyno looks generous. Skeptical of a company that somehow claims 80whp gained equates to a 700hp X6. They assume 30% plus for drivetrain loss.

Stage 1 : ~ 650 HP (stock or lightly modded) Stage 2: ~ 680 - 700 HP (with decatted downpipes, free-flow exhaust) Those gains are by using with octane 94 AKI. these numbers are crank HP no WHP... where did you get their WHP? |

I spoke to them on the phone. He said they assume 30% drivetrain loss. If that's the case I'd like to see baseline vs tuned. If what he's telling was correct, they should see 425whp stock. These pick up a lot of mid range power (around 80whp) but peak gains are minimal ( around 20). Based on that, I have a hard time seeing how a peak gain of 20 whp equates to their advertised 650hp.
Having said that I'd be happy to have them prove me incorrect. |

We could do that, or...you could post a stock vs tuned dyno sheet. That tells the story and gets rid of any speculation or assumptions. Same day, same dyno, same vehicle. Stock vs tuned

Simply put...We (Calgary) don't make as much power as tuners at or closer to sea level. So any local tuner that claims to be making equivalent power is using a significant amount of correction factors on their dyno to compensate for our elevation and generate a fudged number.

Nonetheless, you should make a trip down to their shop and check everything yourself in person. Meet the people there and check out their facilities. Not like driving across a state/province. They're 30min from where you are. |
