X6 50i MPG so far...
Anyone that thinks they are going to get close to 15+mpg is in for a shocker.
So far with only 130 miles on the odometer I am averaging 11.5mpg and this is mixed driving between tollroad and city driving. I have somewhat of a heavy foot but have not floored it yet and have only driven to about 120 once and for a short time on tollroad. I an hoping that once the car is broken in that I will see 12.5-13mpg in normal driving 16-18 on highway. You should see the looks you get with this car! |

Are you filling with gas and dividing the miles driven by gallons used? This is the best way to determine MPG. The onboard computers can be misleading. However, I think the power and sound of the V8 must be awesome as it is on my neighbor's X5 V8.

I knew when I ordered my 50i that mpg would not be astounding but if it ends up being close to published numbers then that's acceptable. Most new cars I've had didn't settle in to their mpg until they had 2k on them. I will try to control my lead foot so I can contribute to the mpg numbers.
I will always be able to afford to drive it so I intend to have fun.

Was nto sure about HUD but I am loving it and it is amazing with cruise control or navigation. My only two complaints so far are the fact that the rear view camera does not turn on quick enough because it takes too long to initially load once you start car and the fact that it does not seem that you store an HD 2 radio station into a preset. If you are on a channel, say 106.1 HD2 and try and store it into one of the presets or 6 memory buttons it will always go to the 106.1 HD1 because it appears to go to 106.1 and then the HD signal is slightlu delayed. Other than those complaints I LOVE IT and would not trade it for anything else right now. |

I am definitely going to call BS on anyone that claims they will get more than 15-16 in city or 20 on hwy. My old IS350 I used to drive pretty hard and would punch it all the time and could still manage 17.5MPG and if I drove the X6 anyway close to the way I used to drive the IS350 then I would probably be getting about 9.5-10mpg. Oh well, didn't buy the X6 for gas mileage and bought for performance and styling and it has certainly lived up to that! |

mpgs are already getting a little better. I have driven about 60/40 city driving/hwy/tollroad driving and with 200 miles on odometer I have a 1/4 tank left and the onboard computer is now showing 12.7mpg. Have not driven it aggressive at all since my original post.
I will also have to say that turbo lag has been very minimal so whatever BMW did in delaying availability due to this seems to have helped. |

MY X6 MPG is going up about 1MPG every 1k miles. Started at 15-20 as per the sticker. Now with 3-4k miles on the truck, I am getting 15-17 city and 21-24MPG hwy.

Thought I would update everyone. My second tank I got 11.875 mpg and third tank I only achieved 11.667 mpg. This was achieved by dividing total miles by gallons purchased. Each time I would only fill up until gas lever clicked first time. The third tank I drove a litte more aggressive and probably floored it 4 or 5 times. Although, gas mileage sucks the reward of driving experience is worth every penny!!!
I hope gas mileage gets a little better and I see closer to 13 in city. Most of my driving is city with some tollroads mixed in. |

My 50i is getting about 12.8/12.9 with about 870 miles on it (and 3 tankfuls of gas). I used the divide miles driven by gallons method and was surprised to find the computer to accurate. It went down to 12.8 the week I was driving more aggressively.
I am very happy with this mileage for car that is this new, haven't done long highway trip yet but have one coming up in October to Monterey. Oh and I have done some aggressive cornering and I listened for DPC noise and there was none. So far only noise I hear is the 6 dvd when I change the mp3 cd's. |
