BMW X6 Angel Eye H8 Bulbs Replacement Instructions
Dear All
Just picked up my 2013 BMW X6 XDrive40d, and really regretted not to choose the LED adaptive headlight. I am now looking to replace the H8 Bulbs for the Angel Eye as the stock yellow light really let the car down. Just wonder have anyone managed to replace the bulbs successfully? If so, could anyone kindly enough to provide clear step-by-step instructions on how to go about doing it (preferably with pictures or video)? Many thanks in advance. Regards Tom |

I just replaced my yellow halos to LEDs. It took me 15 mins. Remove the cap where it covers the daytime running lights. You unplug the lights, unscrew the bulb and than replace it with your new bulbs. When you are finish MAKE SURE that you have put the cap cover back on correctly. If you don't, water will seep in when you go through a car wash or if its raining and it will fry your lights and thats a $$$ fix. Good luck

just purchased these for my new X6. Do you have more detailed instructions? specifically which cap/bulb do I unscrew and replace? Are instructions included with the bulbs? Thanks for the info and link

These what I have when I updated my X5 (not X6) to projector headlamps, but they come with them already installed by the hedlamp mfg. For X6, you need to bake open the headlamp, then screw or glue these rings in front of the plastic halos. Too much risk IMHO, the baking temprature is not high, I think around 250F (but google it if you still wants to try). these Orion has well ring definitons, super bright but some people think it's too over the top. So whatever float your boat I guess. |

this for LUX:
http://luxangeleyes.com/products/lux-h8-v4 the other people are talking is this one : http://www.umnitza.com/dtec-v7-h8-le...tt-p-6464.html IMHO I like DTEC better, here is my reasoning. both design use 8 Cree XT-E LEDs per bulb, DTEC all 8 are white while LUX uses 4-white and 4-blue LEDs, it support biasing circuit to dim those LEDs to create a hue of white to blue (BUT with less light cause all 4-white on with 4-blue off will produce less brightness than all 8 white on). Also from experience, you need to open the headlamp cap and change the biasing circuit manually then put the everything back, it's really tight in there so changing the color is a bit of hassle, unless they make a remote where you can change it on the fly. |
