Lift gate not lifting after battery change

I recently disconnected my battery. After I reconnected it, the lift gate will not lift or close. The Latch opens, but the lift gate will not lift. It doesn't work with the key fob, the button on the dash, or the close button on the lift gate. I have checked both fuses, and they are not blown. Is there a relay somewhere that I need to check? Could the car have lost its coding? Any ideas??? I can't imagine the lift cylinders went bad at the same time I disconnected the battery.
