2011 xdrive50i Front Rotors
So my truck just failed its Maryland state inspection for front rotors being below spec. I have a question, is there a way to find out what front brakes my truck has? Looking at rock auto, it looks like there is 365mm, 348mm, and 332mm. I am in new territory here. I may have to actually measure the rotor to know for sure.
Thanks

If you're going rockauto then their tool will help you with that, just select BMW, 2011, x5, 4.4L, brake/hub, then buy rotors and pads separate or in a kit. The listing for each item shows what it fits, either 35i, 50i, or M. Realoem lists the front rotors as 365x36 for a 2011 50i. Rock auto is pretty solid. I've used them to purchase performance centric/stoptech rotors and pads on my E46 M3 and E46 330i ZHP and they are always great. Just make sure you do the proper bedding procedures which they include in the box. I've also done powerstop rotors and pads from rockauto on my wife's X5 3.0si. Those don't look as high quality but they have been awesome. No rust on the rotors or the mounts because of the coating, and no warping.

thank you. I had that selection up and had the 3 sizes I listed before. I was thinking it was the 365mm but would hate to order them up, then have them be wrong.

I saw one of the brands listing the 365mm after browsing through them with a little more attention to detail. Just got some ordered. Thanks forums!

Next research project, find out if there is anything out of the ordinary for doing front brakes on my e70. I dont think there will be, and hope there isnt.

Nothing special about it. The little allen bolt can be a pain to remove, it's the one that holds the rotor to the hub. Other than that, it's a standard procedure.

Yep DOT4, most will recommend Ate Super Blue or Ate Type 200. You can swap back and forth between the two so you know when the old is gone, but if yours is old and dark already then you can just wait till you see clean fluid running out. You can just use normal DOT4 if you can't find the Ate. I've run prestone before when I couldn't get Ate.

SuperBlue is dead. don't remind us. Only yellow is available. Apparently the blue dye was illegal and took many years for someone to notice. It had a stop sale last year or late 2015
