Fitted mudflaps, roof bars and spoiler thing makes it look awesome :)

For those who may want to see some pics of an X6 with roof bars and mud flaps, which seem to be quite rare on X6 spec's I thought I'd post a few pics of my x6 35D with them fitted. The roof bars were fitted this week, and make a huge diference to that soft roofline which never looked quite right.

Mudflaps are great, make the back look much more chunky.

The tiny spoiler I picked up on ebay, color matched, it finishes off the back pretty nicely.

What do you think?

I tend to think the roofrails/running board combo acts to convey more suv than coupe-on-steroids, but it does look good.

Couldn't help noticing the other car hiding in the back of that second pic, nice combo...

Yeah I like the mud flaps too, but I'm really curious about the other car in the background. I racking my brain trying to figure out what it is, but haven't come up with anything.

What is it?

I like the spoiler but still undecided on the mudflaps and roof rails. Think I need to see them in person. Have yet to see an X6 with either one.

I actually have the lip spoiler on order.

Any chance you can snap a rear picture from a little further away? Up close the mudflaps give the rear a wider looking appearance but I am wondering if it looks a little more subtle from further away.

+1

I like the spoiler, wish it was a little longer so it wraps around the sides a little better.

Although they look okay, I don't like running boards anymore. I had them on my X3 and my calf always rubbed against in getting out of the car and it always got my pants dirty or even wet when it rained... kind of annoying. The only good use I ever got out of them was when I washed my car myself, I could use it as a step and wash the roof easier, but this only worked in conjunction with the roof rails since I needed something to hold on to.

I also had roof rails on my X3. I'm not sure about the roof rails on the X6 though. I'd only consider them if I was actually going to make use of them for transport.

As for the mud guards, I'm not big on them either. I kind of like the idea of the X6 being a raised sports car. I know it has an identity crisis, sports coupe turned SUV. I'd rather keep it sleek, sports coupe looking than chunky, utility looking.

All-in-all, it ain't bad.

I think the X6 styling is stunning, but needs at least a 2" (50.8 mm) drop to do it justice.

The mud flaps might get in the way

I like the mudflaps. . you don't get all that dirt on sides and back, front ones have a strange design I don't really dig (bigger on the outside and smaller on the inside, so maybe they cared about dirt don't getting on doors and not about dirt getting on the belly), plus the best thing about them is that they are like sensors when getting wheels down from a kerb. .when you hear that scratch it's not the body, it's the mudflap.
