2011 x5 m sports package trim choices

Hi all,

I am trying to order a 2011 xDrive50i X5 with the M Sports package and the manager at the dealership is telling me that if I get the M Sports package I can only get the Dark Bamboo wood trim, whereas I want the Dark Burl Walnut trim. I've never heard of this limitation before. The configurator at bmwusa.com allows me to select both the M Sports and the Dark Burl Walnut and the ordering guide that I have says nothing about this limitation.

Has anyone else heard of this? Has anyone here been able to order the M Sports with the Dark Burl Walnut?

Thanks a lot,
-fred

Are those seats cinnamon? I am getting cinnamon seats and thought the walnut would match better than the bamboo. Unfortunately I haven't been able to see this combination in real life, just in the configurator. In fact, I haven't been able to see cinnamon in real life at all, but it looks good on the web.

How much work is it to keep your interior clean with Oyster leather? Your color combo with bamboo is what I really want, but I worry about stains and stuff like that on whats basically white(pinkish) leather.

Thanks for the info. BTW, was this your preferred color combo or did the dealer recommend it?

When I went to order they had a white m-sport with cinnamon & dark bamboo that just came in for a customer. I loved the color combo so it made my decision easy.

Its also nice to be able to see it in person; the website doesn't quite capture it.

BTW, did you pick the 20" m-sport rims? Do you like them? I still haven't seen them in person and the website photo of them is not very good.

Your right, seeing it in person really helped me out. Originally I was going with black leather and the aluminum trim also just the sport pack. Seeing them side by side made me change my mind. I am going with the 20" 333M style wheel which for the 35I is standard. Not too sure on the 50I though. They are very wide in the rear but the addition of the flared fenders looks great. They also are a light gun metal finish which is hard to see in pictures. I am glad BMW went with that because it's not something they normally do.

When I pick it up I'll post some pretty good pics of the wheels, interior and also exterior. They will be up probably Wednesday night.
