Imperfections at the corner of the head lights

This has bugged me ever since I got my X6.
And I have seen it on other X6's including at the last Auto Show a few weeks ago.
If you look at the corner of the headlights, the finishing is not perfect, it seems like no one bothered to smoothen the edges before painting.

How many of you see this on your cars? See pictures

I wonder if the 2010's and 2011's have this same issue.

Have a smaller gap between Car & Light cover, but the finish is similar, not quite as noticable, due to our lighter colour.

Totally UNACCEPTABLE!

+10!
I see a bit of that on mine too.
I attribute it to my car being 1 of the early ones but if u see it in car shows still!!??? BMW is just getting lazy, like MB.
I also see a lot of grains of sand being caught btween the bottom of the transparent headlite cover & the bumper.
BMW should finish it with a translucent rubber gasket around the lite cover like the thin black rubber gasket on the A pillar on the side of the front windshield.
Why do u think Lexus is selling so well. U can't beat the Japanese on details like this.

Well these came out pretty bad. Hope they help anyway. That line is the 3M tape FYI.

I think the orange peel on your paint is much worse.

And don't get me started on "green" cars.

I think the tiny trim defect around the light is the least of your worries.

I think the orange peel you see might be the texture/surface of the clear bra.

Guys, have a good look at those front corner panels & others.
They're a composite high density plastic material, not metal as the hood. They haven't been trimmed properly
Once you open the hood you can see the mould lines. Tap the panels & then the hood. Notice the different accoustics.

ps That explains how we survived +golf ball sized Hail Stones a few weeks ago & only had 2 dents, both on the metal panels

Yeah, it's a clear indication that BMW doesn't really care any more.

I like the orange peel and the green. It's more creative than all the white and black X6's out there

I checked my lights on my 08 X6 and do not have the issue. My X6 is white so I had to examine closely to be able to tell at all. But it is clear that they built the parts correctly.

perhaps those members/owners with this imperfection can post their build dates (located on the driver side door panel)...

this imperfection could possibly be specific to a certain production time frame....
