Nice, albeit brief, review.
It is the performance leader amongst the vehicles listed. I would contend that the X5 is not a competitor of the GL but the ML. The fact that the GL is by far the class leader for 7 seaters differentiates it. The 3rd row in the GL is the only truly useable seating in the class. I'd also suggest that, while I absolutely love how smooth the transmission is in the X5, the 7th or 8th gears that are available on the market today would benefit the X5. We're noticing that the X5 is about 2-3 mpg worse on the highway than our ML and would expect that the extra overdrive gear(s) would put it on equal terms, even with the superior power and performance. Just my opinion of course. |
