1, You will only get static rev limit lights on a non M car.
2, MoeTE87 has screen shotted the coding for the HUD side of things earlier in this post.
3, M cars don't have front fogs so there is no option to indicate your front fogs are on in the cluster.
4, You need to make sure that the M-sport chassis options are not switched on in your I-drive as it will display that instead of drive mode (efficiency drive graphic) in the cluster.

SuspecTARX, what car did you install the F80 cluster in mate? Your rev counter rev limit lights are showing way more segments than does.
Hey, sorry haven't visited the forums in a while
My f8x cluser is installed in my 330d.

The rpm leds on mine are just coded like that, they don't move or anything, had them coded differently (think it was 1 yellow and 2 red) at one point as well, changed it while trying different coding options, stopped playingaround with it and just stayed like that

A. Move the shift light indicator in the tac and HUD to have orange start at 5.5k and the two reds at 6&6.5k

B. An easier way to access the M HUD display. Currently I have to manually go into display settings to select the option.
I have an answer for the question about moving the shift lights, unfortunately at this point it doesn't seem possible, me together with BimmerRetroLA have tried changing a lot of different coding options on my f8x cluster.

We wanted to change the scale of the RPM gauge it self, how many of the shift lights are lit up and the scale of the temp gauge, sadly no luck The reason why we wanted to make these changes was because my diesel has a max of 6k RPMs on my old cluster and the redline starts at 5k RPM, as well as the temp gauge is 100 C in the middle for my old cluster and this one is about 120 C.

The idea was to change the scale that the RPM is displayed in, so that where the f8x cluster has 8,5k RPM it would be 6k RPM instead and so on, if this would have been successfully done I would then order custom gauge faces for the RPM gauge and the temp gauge so that it shows correctly again. At the moment all is displayed correctly, it's just that everything after 5,4k on the gauge is useless for the diesel engine XD

Hopefully can make it work how I want sometime in the future with some sort of adapter or something

Only scale that we could change with coding was the gas tank size to a diesel one so that the fuel gauge shows correctly, sucks that they don't have the options as easily available for the other gauges as well

1)The digital speed is displayed like 2 or 3 times bigger than in an F3x cluster and it also seems to refresh much faster.

2)Design of the gauge faces and the digital instantaneous consumption display looks nicer, more modern imo

3)Cut off and slightly differently shaped rings around the gauges look nicer

4)The ///M logo under the speedo looks much nicer than totaly unused space like the regular cluster

5)White backlight with the red speedo needles are also nice, but might be more tyring for your eyes at night than the red backlight, although you can turn down the brightness to a pretty low amount tbh

I probably missed some things, but for other people it would probably be different anyways
Why are the led higher than the original posted pic from te87

For the longest time I have been wanting to change up my cluster and wasn't sure which route to take. Haven't really been a fan of the 6WB as I feel it is too much in your face and looks pieced together with not a lot of info shown..just my take.

I just so happen to browse these forums and some one with an F30 had an F80 cluster installed. I really liked the way it looked and it was def an OEM+ mod that really changed the interior look. I reached out to the guy (codingdynamics is his handle on Instagram) and he gave me the info of the coder in NY that could virginize the F80 cluster and then code it to my car.

I went on ebay and found a MY2018 F80 cluster in near perfect condition. To my surprise, the clusters are pretty cheap. I paid $200 for it shipped to the coder in NY.

He virginized the cluster same day. He charged me $200 to virginize it then another $150 to code it to my car. So I am all in $550 for it. The guy who did the coding was very knowledgeable and very quick to respond when I had questions.

Thoughts after driving with the new cluster over a week:

I really like the way it looks, especially at night. I was getting tired of looking at the same cluster over the years with nothing special to look at. OEM one is simple, but almost too simple and dated. Some people love the classic look but I want to enhance my driving experience and not look at a cluster that I have been looking at for a long time anymore.

My HUD still works and it is awesome as I can see the RPM's move and the speedo is still in tact. The only down side with it all is the "P" for parked does not show up but everything else does. Would need an expensive module to get that to work and the guy even said, if I were happen to get the XHP tune, it will show up. Still debating on that.

Final thoughts:

I love the way it looks, really transforms the interior, however..for $550...to me, that is a little steep. Wish I knew how to virginize clusters and code. I would say this would be a great deal at $400. But all in all, I am very pleased with it.

UPDATE 3/18/2023:

Last week I purchased the F80 to F30 cluster adapter from Bimmer ECU Solutions. LINK: https://www.bimecu.com/f80-cluster-retrofit-adapter

Cost was $300 for the adapter then about another $26 for shipping.
- Note: Once you get this adapter installed, you will need to code it to your car. I have provided documentation how to do that below.

I reached out to my coder (you can find him on Instagram: codingdynamics) a few days ago and he sent me a detailed things to code within EXPERT mode under the instrument cluster part of Bimmercode.

Here is a list of things that need to happen if you already have the F80 cluster coded to your car and bought the F80 cluster adapter after the fact:

Additional pictures after getting the adapter coded correctly. Which was very simple. Very happy now that I have the P, R, N and D displayed on the F80 cluster. Finally can call this project complete!

Don’t hesitate if there are any questions about this and the process. Happy to answer!

Thanks!
