3.0 SD DPF help
I am trying to sort out the DPF on my 3.0SD e70. The DPF warning light came on a little while back. My first port of call was to remove the DPF and have it flash cleaned. I know a blocked DPF is a symptom of some other issue, but I thought I might get a few months out of a freshly cleaned DPF, unfortunately not.
I can’t remember exactly what the soot and ash levels where after the clean, but I’m pretty sure they weren’t in single digits. Anyway, the light is back on… My current soot and ash levels are: 04.03.2018 18:14:25 Soot mass Ash mass Regeneration requested Average engine speed 04.03.2018 18:14:25 71.580002 51.199997 8.000000 1703.902222 I had glow plug error codes which after replacing the plugs and control module have been cleared. I have removed the swirl flaps, cleaned the EGR and replaced the crankcase oil breather, so I think that I should be a in reasonable shape. However I don’t seem to be able to force a regen. I was wondering if the soot/ash were to high preventing a regen. I do have some other fault codes but they all seem to relate to the DPF: Faultcode: (0x452A) Info-particle system ** (appeared at: 190232.0km) ***** Ash in the particulate mass: 50.95 g ***** Differential pressure by particulate: 640.00 mbar ***** Injection quantity: 24.81 mg/Hub ***** engine coolant temperature: 60.16 °C ***** Boost pressure actual value: 1171.69 mbar ***** Air mass per cylinder: 560.84 mg/Hub ***** Engine speed: 1875.61 1/min ***** Rail Pressure Is: 677.42 bar ***** Russ mass in the particulate filter: 59.94 g ***** ambient pressure: 984.62 mbar Faultcode: (0x481A) Particle filter system ** (appeared at: 190240.0km) ***** Exhaust backpressure before particulate filter: 1654.15 mbar ***** Exhaust gas volume flow in the particulate filter: 326.01 m^3/h ***** Ash in the particulate mass: 50.95 g ***** Differential pressure by particulate: 659.69 mbar ***** Injection quantity: 23.63 mg/Hub ***** engine coolant temperature: 58.15 °C ***** Air mass per cylinder: 579.74 mg/Hub ***** Engine speed: 1875.61 1/min ***** Russ mass in the particulate filter: 70.93 g ***** ambient pressure: 984.62 mbar Faultcode: (0x4010) Exhaust back pressure sensor against particulate filter ** (appeared at: 190264.0km) ***** battery voltage: 14.50 V ***** Injection quantity: 36.63 mg/Hub ***** vehicle speed: 88.83 km/h ***** engine coolant temperature: 57.15 °C ***** Boost pressure actual value: 1447.38 mbar ***** Air mass per cylinder: 642.76 mg/Hub ***** Engine speed: 1654.95 1/min ***** Rail Pressure Is: 740.43 bar ***** Voltage exhaust backpressure sensor: 4807.29 mV ***** ambient pressure: 984.62 mbar Faultcode: (0x4010) Exhaust back pressure sensor against particulate filter ** (appeared at: 190272.0km) ***** battery voltage: 12.22 V ***** Injection quantity: 33.87 mg/Hub ***** vehicle speed: 96.72 km/h ***** engine coolant temperature: 62.17 °C ***** Boost pressure actual value: 1339.08 mbar ***** Air mass per cylinder: 611.25 mg/Hub ***** Engine speed: 1792.86 1/min ***** Rail Pressure Is: 701.05 bar ***** Voltage exhaust backpressure sensor: 4915.56 mV ***** ambient pressure: 974.77 mbar Faultcode: (0x4CF3) Exhaust back pressure sensor ** (appeared at: 190264.0km) ***** Exhaust gas volume flow in the particulate filter: 183.90 m^3/h ***** Differential pressure by particulate: 935.38 mbar ***** Injection quantity: 20.09 mg/Hub ***** engine coolant temperature: 60.16 °C ***** Boost pressure actual value: 1171.69 mbar ***** Air mass per cylinder: 346.58 mg/Hub ***** Engine speed: 1848.03 1/min ***** Pedal value generator: 0.00 % ***** Rail Pressure Is: 496.25 bar ***** ambient pressure: 984.62 mbar I’m not sure what I should try next any ideas appreciated. I am holding off getting a refry or aftermarket def as I don’t want it to get blocked up straight away, especially as it was a faff to get off in the first place. |
