That's what the dealer said. They also mentioned it take 4 weeks once the car goes into production.
So I assume the car won't arrive at dealer until Sept

Just did the Ultimate Drive Event today and drove an X6 ActiveHybrid. It was the first time that I've been able to drive an X6 since no local dealers have had any stock. I'm now more excited than ever!

It didn't have Adaptive Drive and I'm anxious to see the difference as we have less than stellar road quality in upstate NY. It did have HUD though, and I'm very glad I ticked that box - I doubt I'll ever look at the instrument panel.

As a side-note, still no production date.

I ordered my X6 3.5 on June 29th. I live in norther California. I still have not gotten it yet. It took 3 weeks from the time I ordered for the website to show that it went into production. One week later it went from production to car is at the prep center. I talked to my Rep last week an he said the car should arrive at the dealership this thursday Aug 12.

Ordered:
2011 x6 3.5
Space gray

Congrats X6sy! That's great news!

Curious if you got the update via the automated phone system or a live person.

It's amazing to me that all three systems (online, automated phone, live customer service agent) can all have different information. I mean, shouldn't they all be pulling data from the same system?

My car (or SUV, SAV, SAC whatever you want to call it) is now in status 112 according to my CA. When I talk to a live person at the BMW hotline, they tell me that as of 8/6/10, the car is "Scheduled for Production Pack." The automated phone system still says "Sheduled with no confirmed production date" and the online system says "on order", although it finally shows my correct color and options as of Sunday.

Is anyone doing the PCD for delivery? I'm curious when I will get an email with aviable pickup dates.

Kevin

Kevin, your not getting different info. Scheduled for production pack, scheduled with no confirmed production date and on order all mean the same thing: They have your order, but have not started building the car yet.

X6SY congrats! I am really curious to see how long it will take for me to actually take delivery of the car as mine will be finished building 8/10. I am really hoping I can take delivery by the end of next week.

Kevin,

Thanks. I got the update from automated service. However, I heard live person is most upto date. Online is about 24 to 48 hours delay.

Joek023,

Thanks. I think end of next week is very doable. Unless they have to wait for my car to be on the same truck which will delay your delivery. Just kidding!! ^_^ Hope you get your car next week!

Kevin, yeah online sucks. Just call the 800 number the automated service is really accurate. Friday it said my vehicle was in the body shop, today it says my vehicle is in the paint shop. Online it still says vehicle in production.

X6SY, by any chance is your dealer Paul Miller? That's where I'm getting mine, if this is the case, then it might have to be on the same truck. LOL

My CA contacted me about scheduling my PCD delivery. The first date they would schedule it for was 9/17, so I decided to cancel it and just have it delivered to the dealer. I really wanted to have the PCD experience, but I'd rather have the car a few weeks early.

I wanted to cancel my PCD to get mine early too, but it was so worth the wait. I would reconsider if I was you. It really is the experience of a lifetime. They don't have a regular X6 for the driving course and you'll get the X6 M.

Do it!

Thanks Joeko23. I know money factor went down from June. Is your car completed yet?

Joeko23,

Quick question, have you test drove the X6 35I? If you have how is the power and mostly how is the suspension? Is it firm? I am having second thought that I should have order sport package witch has the sports suspension mode. Just like to get some opinion. I would hate if the car is soft and much body lean during handling. I like it firm and tight.

X6SY, 800 number just says vehicle is in the paint shop with completion date of 8/10. I'll let you know tomorrow if anything changes.

I test drove the Activehybrid because no one stocks the X6 (test drove from Circle BMW in Eatontown, NJ). The Activehybrid does not have adaptive drive (sport button), it did have the 20" rims. The ride was very smooth and but at the same time the suspension was firm and tight like in a sports sedan. Acceleration was awesome.

I ordered mine with the sport activity package with 20" rims. I didn't want to pay another $2.3k for adaptive drive (a feature I would never use). I doubt you would use or would need the sport button in any kind of road driving (unless you plan on taking it to the track). That's just my opinion.

Did you order yours with sport activity package and 20" rims? This would stiffen up the ride. Although if you go with the standard 19" rims, I know the ride is going to be firm too. To answer your question, regardless of whether or not you got the sport or sport activity or didn't get either, the ride is going to be firm so I wouldn't worry. As far as 35i acceleration, it's obviously going to be slower than the activehybrid, but according to the numbers it's only slower by like .5 seconds. Any SUV that can do 0-60 under 6 seconds is quick!

We went with the 35i primarily because of the price, secondly my wife and I do a lot of driving so overall gas consumption would be much more with the 50i. So for us the 35i is more practical for a daily vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I love to floor it at the light and absolutely abliterate the rice rocket next to me with intakes, exhausts, NOS, mods equaling more than my X6.

Joeko23,

Same here. I just came off 2007 550I with sport package and didnt even use the power it has. Once in awhile when you need the power its good to have. I think for me, 300HP should be enough to pull this big car.

BTW, what are you doing for winter, are you going to drive as is or thinking of getting a new wheel set with all season tire or winter tire? I have been debating about this to myself for while. Since I hear our tires are so dangerous during winter even if it doesnt rain or snow.

I had 330i stick with sport package (summer tires), and G35 coupe also stick with summer tires. All the dealers told me you won't be able to drive these cars in the winter, you will have to buy winter tires. I never bought winter tires or changed the tires to all season. Honestly, in the rain, summer tires are fine. As far as winter weather (snow and sleet), I hardly remember having problems or getting stuck. Yes you will definetly have more traction with a set of winter tires, but it's a pain in the ass/expensive to have a dedicated set of rims and tires just for winter driving. Besides in NY/NJ area it snows hardcore only like 5-10 times per year, the rest of the winter is primarily just cold with rain. To me that's not really worth buying a set of rims and tires for. What I might do, if and only if I notice that these particular tires suck in the winter is buy a set of all season tires once the original wear out. Also this car is 4 wheel drive, that alone no matter what tires you have gains significant traction. I think I will be fine with the oem tires.

Update on my car, 800 number still says in the paint shop with completion date of 8/10.

Call the human. You might get more detail. As of yesterday, human told me today it entered the paint shop yesterday. Meaning the status is day old but automated system is still telling me in production.
