New owner of 2012 BMW X5 AWD 4dr 35i Sport Activity

Hello,

I just recently purchased 2012 BMW X5 AWD 4dr 35i Sport Activity. Is there anything i need worry about? known issues besides the recall of the air bag?
Also, how can i update the navigation map? and since this is msports packaged, is there a bmw running board for this? the one that came in this is pretty small. thanks in advance...

How many miles are on it? There is also a drive shaft recall that I recommend looking into asap.

For me at 65k HPFP failure and now at 80k my rear suspension(airbags) are leaking but other than that its a great car.

The airbags were around $300 online but I did the repair myself which isn't difficult.

You can check here to see if there are any recalls. If the drive shaft recall isn't listed when you search your vehicle more than likely it was already taken cared of: https://www.bmwusa.com/safety-recalls.html

Oil leaks and water pump may need to be replaced. There are many vendors where you buy a FSC code for like $50. They will provide you with a link to download the maps update and then you install it and activate it with the FSC code. Just google FSC code for bmw and you'll find various vendors.
