X5 50i Cooling Fan after shutdown?

Hi All,
I am the recent HAPPY owner of a X5 50i M sport and had a question for people with more experience. Sorry if it is a stupid question.
After shutdown, Fan(s) run anywhere from 3-5 minutes up front. I am in Arizona so it is a little warmer but being winter now it doesn't get much warmer than 70 degrees/20c.
a.) is this normal? Could it be something cooling the Turbo's?
b.) If not, why would they run so much or what could it be?

I spoke with a friend that has the same car and he said he doesn't notice it running that much.

Based on my experience, it is absolutely normal. We've had 0 degree weather, and they will still run after shutting off.

My M does this too, dealer said it was normal.
