Non-Leather option?

Hi Guys,

Kind of an odd request I guess, my fiance and I are both vegetarians and do not believe in animals being killed for their skin so that we can have dead skin clothing and seating. With that said we really love the X5 35i Sport Activity model, however, this comes with leather as standard. So our options are to order one without leather (go with leatherette) or get a base 35i and just get the wheels as an accessory...because really that is all we want... we could care less about the other options.

So the question is, has anyone had experience with this type of request? Will we lose all negotiating powers and end up having to pay MSRP if we order? First time dealing with BMW here; so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

BMW Individual also offers twill cloth instead of the leatherette, you'll need to talk to your dealer and see if they can get a custom order placed for you.

I believe the problem will most likely be the seats, only the base seats are available in non-leather options, the sport and comfort are only available with leather.

Thank you for the quick reply.

We really like the leatherette so the cloth wouldn't be something we need. The only thing we like is the wheel style of the sport activity. I'll see if I can just buy them from the dealer and have them installed.

Yeah, it would be easiest just to buy the 214 wheels and tires, if you buy the tires with the wheels from the dealer, they're not going to be all-seasons, just summers, so you'll want to keep the original wheels for winter. Or just buy the wheels from the dealer and get all seasons from tirerack or a local shop.

You'll also need to buy the wider fender flares, dealer should be able to do all that for you as well.

Yeah if possible that seems to be the best route. Do you know the invoice or those wheels/ tires? I couldn't find them in accessories on BMM's website.

Just buy them as new takeoffs from someone on here. Its alot cheaper and they are a very common wheel.
