When did you do your first oil change?

Curious as to what everyone thinks is the right time for the "first" oil change?

Am thinking this might be a long-time keeper for me. Therefore it might get changed right after break in and every 5k thereafter...

BMW Scheduled maintenance pays for specifically required changes as per car computer.
Xtra in between changes u pay. BMW SA's say its no longer necessary to change every 5-7000 w/ synthetic oil they use.
So it's up 2 owners.

For cars I own and keep:
First oil change after break-in to eliminate initial contaminants
Every 5500-6000 there-after

Leased Cars:

Only when trip computer says..

That said, I'll fully admit to potentially being outdated in my thinking and certainly not sustainable enough either!
