Have you guys noticed how much attention the X6 draws?

I constantly notice folks not paying attention to their driving as they gaze at my X6. I even had one lady in a VW bug convertible slow down in the fast lane to be even with me in the middle lane only to put a thumbs up out to me and a big smile.

I don't recall my 645Ci ever getting this kind of attention.

Although a few have given me the thumbs down, 99% of the lookers have been positive.

Happens all the time chuck92103 - although I can't recall anyone giving me the thumbs down (or finger, etc...). People often slow down and then move into different lanes and come up alongside the other side of the car to take a look - often resulting in a thumbs-up and a grin...!

Funny you say that. I just had a lady in an Accord lightly rear-end the car next to me in stop and go traffic last week because she was looking over at my car. I felt bad but I can't help the attention the car brings.

You have probably had a few thumbs down because of all the environmentalists in CA.

I have people coming up quickly behind me ( sometime a little too close) to see what it is and read the rear badge. I have had people change lanes several times so they could see the side and the front.

Couldnt agree with more with all of you guys...car is magnet..and i can understand all other people at the street that gawking at x6,but i like the most those that stop looking at car just a moment before i see them...or better ones that "doesnt notice x6 at all" and look straight up or on opposite side...that folks are most funniest to me.

The thumbs down are probably from people who come up behind you. IMO the X6 looks OK from the front, fabulous from the side, and butt ugly from the rear. I followed one the other day for about ten miles thinking gawd, that thing looks ungainly from this angle. Then again, that's probably the view most people get!...

I know what you mean , mine is SG so folks don't always notice it when they pull up. then you see them do this double take and are looking it up and down or driving like hell to catch up and get a look. On the weekends we go out to brunch and when we come out there is always some folks peering in the window and walking around it.

Hey dmlgc, thanks for asking. I WOULD have gotten mine in a couple of days as per original schedule, however I decided to wait for the new iDrive after seeing it in another car and playing with it for a bit at the dealership. So I'm still another 3+ month out. But on the bright side, I hope that by the time I get mine, we will be out of this winter weather and I don't have to go through the entire winter tire thing with this car for a while (just got new winter tires for my wife's car). Besides, I would really hate getting the new car and dragging all that damn salt in or getting it all over the exterior...

GTA stands for Greater Toronto Area, which basically means it is the area surrounding Toronto/Ontario/Canada.

Some sources are now reporting new idrive will not be available in the X6 until September 09.

I think it looks incredible from the rear and all other angles. I would give someone a thumbs up if I liked their car but I wouldn't waste my time to give someone a thumbs down if I didn't like their car.
