A/S is a nice feature but you will notice odd steering wheel noises if you have it.

It is a feature I can live without. I had HUD before too. I like it a lot, but useless most of the time. If it had the turn signal indicators, radio station, etc. up on the screen it would be much more useful.
Chuck and all you guys i might have a problem!

Today i have noticed odd steering wheel noise at low speed when doing left or right turn at low speed...is that normal?

please help!

It would help if you would describe what you are actually hearing. There is a WIDE range of noises that should be heard and others that should definitely NOT be heard!

When I had my 656 with A/S I noticed a slight sandy/grinding sound when turning the wheel. Not real loud or annoying but you can definately hear hit. The auto tilt would make a slight thump thump thump as well.

I test drove a X6 XDrive35D with the active steering and I did not like it at all. It felt too artificial and light. However you could get used to it quickly. If I decide to get a X6 I'll get it without active steering.
