Is this a good deal?

Hey guys,

Currently own an E90 335i but looking to get into an X5 and came across this M. What do you guys think....good deal?

I've done some research and it seems like they come across problems often, what are the main things to worry about?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: Actually just saw that this is just the 4.8 engine in the description. Weird that it has all the M badges.

M sport Yes. Previous owner was wishing it was a X5M. I once saw a M badge on a Datsun B210. Good luck.

the last owner seems like he was a poser, based on that alone I would not buy this particular vehicle. Color is also weird and those wheels look wack painted black on it. Miles too high.

gotta love that MX5, haha.

but in all seriousness, the car does look to be in good shape and is fairly clean. If you want a 4.8, than it's not a bad choice, but take off that M badge

I was going to say 'it's not even an M Sport' but I ran the VIN and sure enough….this package existed on 2010's? Never knew that.

Original color was Alpine White. Nice options…active steering, adaptive drive, M Sport, Premium Sound, Cold Weather, rear DVD…

Anything to look out for on the 4.8 engine? Thanks for all the feedback guys. In no hurry to buy, so just getting a taste for what's out there right now

Looking to spend no more than $30K, so if you guys have any suggestions, let me know! Thanks

If I were you mate, I'd skip this one and just keep trolling the internet for a good deal on a used X5 that's perhaps an LCI (2011+). It will look years newer, and you should be able to find something around the $30K mark. Even if it's not an M Sport, you can always upgrade the fender flares and the wheels and perhaps some bits on the inside to make it look a bit more sporty.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. I don't need to purchase until this summer, but will buy earlier if I find a deal!

Good good. Most of us on the forum looks for months before finding the right X5. Personally, I looked for 4-5 months.

Gaaaaahhhh! Why did I click on that link?

I finally finished a 5 1/2 month hunt this week. During the hunt I ran across a 2010 4.8 M Sport. I drove it, and honestly, I was very disappointed in the performance. I expected the engine to have more get up than it did. The only reason IMO to consider the 2010 is the fact it has updated iDrive. I'd definltely look for 2011+ due to the facelift and improved engine options.

IMO, you never want to buy a car from some schmo who's put a bunch of badges and crap on it. There's a really funny thread over at M5Board called "More Fake M5s".
