Removing run flat tires

I plan on getting my rims powder coated. Will the removal of the run flat tires for the process cause any issues with sensors etc? Can they be removed and re-installed like regular tires?

Removal of run flat

I was under the belief that once you remove the run flat from the rim it has been compromised. No longer a run flat -- just a tire at that point.

Yes it's fine to remove and remount tires-I did the same thing-make sure they don't powdercoat the flat mounting surface on rim back - I had vibration issues and discovered they powdercoated the mount point on mine-I ground it off Back to raw aluminum and problem fixed.

Thinking of doing the same for my 19" stock wheels. Let us know how it turns out!

Just picked it up today. They completed the job in 14 hrs. This place was recommended by a friend that owns a collision shop.

Looks fresh. What is the attachment above you rear window? I think the black base model rims look better than the standard. Good job.

I put continental dws on my wife's X5. Car rides great. No issue going from run flats to non-run flats. Run flats sort of a waste of money.
