Help deciding on a CPO X5

I am in the market for an X5, but I want to go the CPO route, so my options are limited. Right now, there are 2 in my area, and I was hoping some owners would be able to give an opinion as to which was the better build. Both are 2012, and both are in very nice condition.

Both Have:
Premium Package
Comfort Access
Hi-fi radio

X5 A has:
Sport Activity Package
Adaptive Drive
Upgraded 20" Wheels (336)
Active Ventillated Seats (Nevada Biege)
Multi Contour Seats
Nappa Leather Dashboard
3rd Row

X5 B has:
M Sport Package
Technology Package
Oyster Sport Seats
Upgraded 20" wheels (333M)

So, I guess my main question is: Would it be better to have Adaptive Drive, Active Ventillated Multi Contour Seats, the Nappa Leather Dashboard and a 3rd Row.... or.. M Sport Pacage and Technology Package? I have heard great things about both, so any opinions would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the help. I'm hoping to make a decision today or tomorrow!

So you would say Adaptive Drive and Multi Contour seats are outweighed by the M sport package offerings?

I'm not disagreeing, just asking. I've heard so much chatter about AD and Multi Contour seats...

I'm not a huge fan of either interior, but I would pick A.

The M Sport is mostly a subjective choice IMO. It doesn't offer any extra performance (unless it has the very rare M performance option), doesn't drive any better, the wheels are the same size/diameter, etc. You do get the M steering wheel - that's about the only upgrade unless you consider painted wheel arches, door trims, etc., and upgrade.

Keep in mind regarding 2012 & 2013 M Sports -
-they don't have Adaptive drive standard like 2011's
-due to package re-shuffling with 2012MY, the Technology package offers very little, only HUD, side-view camera, and headlight assistant.

Adaptive drive is extremely rare (as is 3rd row, if you need it), and makes a noticeable difference when driving. Many people on here swear by that, and the multi-contour seats, saying they'd never buy one w/o those options. And being you're in NO, I would think the ventilated seats would be nice.

Are they similar in mileage?

I think the 3rd row is a waste of money. It also has a self leveling system as a result of having the 3rd row. This is something I would worry about breaking once the warranty runs out, as it would be expensive to replace compressors and other items related to it. The 3rd row is only good for small children. 10 year olds and up, no can do.

So, from that stand point its a 1500-2000 option you won't ever use. Its sort of like having a 55" big screen tv you never watch.

I would opt for the x5 with the m-sport package. The oyster seats and interior will be difficult to keep clean. That would be my only reservation on that. The Hifi stereo is ok. I would ask how much it would be to upgrade to the logic 7 and finance that into the payment.

Tough choice, but I'd still opt for the M Sport if you *really* had to choose between those two.

I have Adaptive Drive and I swear I cannot tell the difference whether it's on or off. I've tried and tried and tried. The Multi Contour seats are very nice. The Active Ventilation package which has A/C in the seats, along with the massaging option, is nice but I'd probably not waste any money on it. That being said, it's a package deal from what I understand.

You can't tell the difference between on or off because you can not turn it off AFAIK.
The SPORT-Button only changes a few parameters (stiffness etc), but you can not disable it.
That's why you can not tell the difference

I voted for A.

Lucky me, I have AD & M Sports Package

Ugh. I had no idea. I thought the Sport button turned the Adaptive Drive on or off. How would I tell the difference when driving when the Sport button is on or off?

This seems strange to me. I'm pretty certain the 'Sport' button = Adaptive Drive (AD). It doesn't seem to make much sense that AD equipped vehicles would have a further available adjustment with the 'Sport' button?

I haven't driven an E70 with AD but I recently drove a 2014 F15 X5 with the 'Dynamic Handling Package' (similarly priced to AD at $4500 and described as reducing body roll) - which also is activated with a 'Sport' button on the center console near the shifter, and you can most definitely feel a difference.

It should be a bit stiffer overall, but I find the most noticeable difference is less body roll when Sport is on.

Try taking a few long round corners at speed with it on vs off.

Congratulations! Looks like you got the Jet Black X5 from Peake BMW (easy to narrow down on BMWUSA based on your post)? I see they have it listed for $50,995. I'm currently looking for a CPO X5 and I'm curious how much dealers are willing to negotiate…..were they willing to drop the price much?

They dropped the price ~$7,000. I had 2 trades involved, but they gave me fair value on my trades. I had to work at it and walk out, but they eventually got down to my price.
