New Top Gear S23 E1 is S**T!

I'm still going to see how the rest of this season pans out since there's not too many car shows on cable right now, but DAMN Evans is so fukin' annoying.

Two things retard.
1. learn how to pronounce an iconic brand like Porsche correctly!
2. It's "Stig" not "Schtig"!

He's like that kid in school that never got enough hugs from Mommy so he has to purposely be annoying to get any kind of attention.

I found Episode 2 more entertaining than Episode 1. The McLaren 675LT is a beast.

As I said... I watch the show for the EPIC cars! These new guys are not any worse (actually a lil less annoying!) than the others. McLaren 675T is pure unadulterated WIN!!! Fastest car to date driven by The STIG.
I also enjoyed the SUV comparo. So far so good IMO.

No, that's not it. He's one of those that simply needs to be over the top in everything he does. That's been known about him for a while, and that's why he's a bad choice for this show. The beauty of the old trio was that they were never truly over the top as personalities. They flirted with it plenty, but never truly sought to be.

I watched the first episode with Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc. I don't see how it is a complete disaster like some people would make you believe. It seems in line with the normal shenanigans that went on with the old Top Gear. In fact the first episode seemed to have more content and celebrity appearances than any episode i could remember in the old top gear. I just wish they included more of Chris Harris for some :serious: reviews!

The show is not really about cars.
It's about guys BS-ing about cars.
The old guys where more fun, and more edgy.

New guys (and 1 token girl) are a bit more wooden.
Perhaps, they will loosen up as the series unfolds, but I renewed my Amazon prime membership largely because I'm waiting for the re-incarnation of the Old TG (aka The Grand Tour).

Yeah, because that's what the show is really all about.

The new celebrity section "Star in a Rally Cross Car" is terrible. The rallycross track is all about cheap thrills, the car isn't remotely exciting, and the bit where the celebrities read about eachother on a teleprompter is just sad. They should have stuck with celebs bombing about in a beater. That was always great fun to watch.

It took me 3 nights to make it through the first episode of the new BBC Top Gear.

Most of the skits felt cliche and I really didn't see the point of them.

Still not really sure who Chris Evans is and why he is hosting a car show. His jokes were cheesy and he does sound like he's yelling.

Also, did anyone think it was weird that Matt & Chris were acting very "buddy buddy" despite the conflict between the two we've heard from the media?

Episode 2 was more enjoyable. Jenson Button's review of the 675LT was hilarious . I heard Chris was trying to get him on the show but it did not pan out.

Also, if anyone has caught US Top Gear recently it's gotten a lot better. They do their own thing instead of trying to emulate UK Top Gear. Might be a bit silly for some but it's definitely gotten much more entertaining.

Can't wait for the Grand Tour. I hope Jeremy, Richard, and James still have it. I'm also hoping for some shameless stabs from them at the new UK Top Gear. I wouldn't expect anything less from them.

Chris Evans still sucks....cant help but yell all the time....Chick driver is even worse and cackles like a 12 year old at a sleepover the entire time she's driving the R8....now the Ferrari review was awesome, the Focus review was very good and hoonigan driving with LeBlanc and Ken Block were very cool...shitcan Evans and the chick and they might have something worth watching weekly without the fast forward button.

This would be nice, I just want Harris's youtube channel back. Not interested in this imitation Top Gear. They are never going to capture what the last three had. BBC should realize a lot of casual Top Gear fans will not be tuning in anymore. I had turned on many friends and family to Top Gear(all ages), they watched for the comedy alone. They are not car fans what so ever. They no longer watch the show. Where Top Gear is sitting now is probably going to be their average ratings, about half of what it was. Embrace the lower ratings and give the gearheads what they want, a more technical car show. Leave the shenanigans for Clarkson and company's new amazon prime show.

BBC is concerned because "but failed to match the ratings of Antiques Roadshow and Soccer Aid." That's right, Antiques Roadshow now has better ratings then Top Gear.

Am I the only one who just watches for the Stig's lap times?

I have to admit I actually enjoyed ep3.
The less time Evans gets, the better.

The Ken Block/Matt LeBlanc piece was awesome.
Ken's driving was spectacular as always and LeBlanc had me cracking up.
