E70 X5: Noisy Standard Rear Seat Latches?
Fellow E70 Owners:
Does anyone else have extremely noisy rear seat seat-back latches? Is this a known/common issue? FYI: My 2013 X5d (US model) has the normal rear seat, not the version that allows access to a 3rd row. Really, this is my ONLY complaint about this X5. It's a clever "swiss-army knife" of a vehicle for our family needs. Thanks!

I'm assuming that a dab of standard door latch style grease will hush it up, but I haven't tried any yet.
They are noisy when those seat positions are unoccupied and even noisier when adults sit in the two primary rear seating positions.

Quote:
1. a dab of clear silicone grease on latch bracket (this is temporary and will have to be repeated every once in a while) 2. Cut a piece of shrink tubing of correct diameter the length of the latch bracket. Slit open length wise and wrap around bracket. You can really use any tubing, or even electrical tape, as long as it is thin walled and latch hook fits around it ... GL
