Delete EGR questions

I have a 2013 x5 35d.

if you search my recent posts you will see that i have a failed dde due to diesel contamination. I bought a used dde and I am going to have it cloned. Since I am sending it in to a tuner I was thinking I might have the EGR deleted. A couple of questions....

1) I can buy the kits but why couldn't i just fab something to block the exhaust from the cooler and the again at the egr? The coolant can just keep flowing through the cooler.

2) should i also do the dpf? Do i have to? I have read about some concerns of the DPF being blocked due the EGR being gone? I would just do it if it was easy to get to on the X5 but I think that it is not.

3) I'm wondering if I can have the EGR and DPF removed from the code now since i am sending the dde in and actually remove the dpf next winter when i have more time. With the DPF removed from the code there would be no regens....could i still force them with ista or carly?

Thanks for any of your insight.

These aren’t times to be talking about deleting emissions. Best to just keep it stock or hit a pothole, if ya know what I mean, there’s no In between as you will just cause issues over time.

You can’t pothole a dpf without potholing the scr as well. You can pothole the egr without potholing the dpf though
