Just picked up an 08 x5
Hello all,
Can't believe I remembered my login info over here. I was here a couple years ago in a 135i and moved on from that car. Anyway, just picked up an 08 x5 with the 3.0si, I know, nothing fancy. It will go along with my c63 and is taking the place of a Ford Edge I had. I liked the Edge, but I was just never compelled to drive it and ended up putting more miles on my c63 than I wanted. Hopefully the x5 takes care of that. I already love the car and is night and day over the edge. Anyway, off I go into the depths of the x5 forum to find out what I should know instead of having y'all spoon feed me the same info you've probably handed out hundreds of times. And picture so I don't get yelled at (even though the quality isn't great, took it when the sun was down). Happy holidays |

Nice C63. I'll trade ya garages!
08 M3 for your C63 and 12 X5d sports package for your X5 3.0i.

Haha, thanks. My neighbor has a 13 comp. package m3 coupe thats catless and tuned.. Sounds great, but not as good as the AMG! I thought about an m3 but then I'd just be copying him.
That 12 diesel though... Love the diesel? |

I love the diesel. Thanksgiving weekend, I drove 220 miles and averaged 28 mpgs with the car weighing in around 5500lbs loaded with people and stuff. It's just a comfy ride, and looks amazing with flares and 20s. I fight my wife to drive it. Here's the stats: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1081562

It's a 13 sedan, white with black interior and black ashwood. Tuned, secondary cat/res delete, cf wrapped roof, cf spoiler, black series fender "6.3" badges, custom painted seat backs and calipers, and all chrome is blacked out as well.
Also has 22k miles and the factory LSD (which is a big feature to have). Non-PP I love the freakin' thing. Seriously, every single time I am in that car I am guaranteed to smile. Usually right when I start it and the snap bangs off my garage wall. |

an amazing C63. I got the same feeling with my M3 up to this year. Now I'm a bit bored of it and looking to switch. I'm tossing arouind a C6 Z06, and maybe a C63. I noticed you have the updated style (LCI?), so you have the MCT.
A few questions as when I was shopping, I was only looking at P31 cars for the guaranteed LSD, what option code or package am I looking for on non-P31 cars in order to ensure I'm getting the LSD? I take it, this option as an add-on option has changed over time between 2009 and 2013? Also what are the black series fenders? I can't tell. Last edited by Flying Ace; 12-18-2015 at 02:15 PM.. |

I was tossing around the idea of a z06 as well, but at 26 it just didn't feel right. If I was spending that kind of money (nice, clean, newer c6 z06 money), I'd just up the budget some and get a GTR. Might not even have to up it much either.
P31's aren't guaranteed to have an LSD. If you are shopping around for one seriously get the build sheet (dealer's can print this pretty easily for you) and the SA code for the LSD is 471. The only PP cars that definitely have an LSD are 09's and older and you can just look at the steering wheel for alcantara and you'd know the car has it. However, after that year, the LSD was just an option and had to be checked. Quaiffe and Wavetrac actually make affordable options and you can get the LSD for <$1k and just have to pay for an install. My first c63 was the pre-facelift as you can see. It had the old older transmission and no LSD. My new c63 with the MCT and LSD is a whole new ball game. Plus the tune. Very fun and exciting car. Both had the same exhaust work, basically only primary cats left in there for NY inspections. Will pass Cali smog though if that's a concern for you and future reference. I don't have actual BS fenders. Just the side badging. Previous owner kind of made the old side badging look a little messy so I cleaned it up. And yes, those damn badges come with a black series tax (I think like $125 for just those 4 little numbers and two dots). Here are two terrible pics to give you an idea haha Didn't have an adhesive I liked when I was putting them on, so there was no " . " in this one: But here it is with it from just now: As for PP vs non-PP etc and the right c63 to get... So, the PP's will hold value a little better. They'll come with lighter forged internals and two piece rotors which are the main things. However, unless you plan a $25k+ supercharger build, the internals will take everything you can throw at them, including headers. The Facelifts are coming down in price as well, and it is definitely a buyers market, so if I were you I wouldn't even consider an 11 or older. I'd even sell mine right around $50k which I'd still have quite a hard time getting. Also, a non-PP c63 w/ an off the shelf tune from Eurocharged is just slightly quicker than a c63 with a pp pack (p30/p31). And obviously in theory a tuned non-pp vs a tuned-pp will be dead even. Feel free to ask other questions. The thing I'm jealous of on the m3 are the wheel offsets. The c63 offsets are poop and we can't really fit concave or wide wheels. |

Yeah, your rears are just plain silly.
Are there a easy online vin decoder to run VINs I find on for sale pages for the LSD option code? Thanks all the info. I'll probably start looking again soon for a 11 or 12 model. I don't care about PP as much, really just want the LSD

When you start looking just PM me. I know someone over on MB world who can run VINs. Also pm me your budget and either I can offer mine up or I can at least keep an eye out for clean examples for you. I see you're in cali and there are always a ton of these things for sale out there.
