X6M or Activehybrid X6 ?

X6 35d=600nM
X6 35i 0-100kph = 6.7 sec
X6m =680nM, 0-100kph =4.7 sec.
Activehybrid X6= 780nM, 0-100 kph =5.6 sec.

Saw the x6M & x5M demos @ the dealer.
I understand the M is a totally different setup from the standard X6s,
& worth every penny for some people, but in this age where resource consumption have multiplier effects with global ecological consequences, I think the Activehybrid X6 is the better choice & more then sufficient.

Guess it depends on your orientation, I was hoping the hybrid would not only have more power (which it does) but be faster (which it is not). If they make a hybrid that is faster that mu 50i then I would consider buying it otherwise not.

I think it depends how they price them...and I cannot imagine holding onto one past the warranty period...I had enough problems with my M5's computer systems...

2006 M5, I had the dreaded cog of death with the transmission, and numerous other problems all pretty much software related. Left me limping home once, but many of them would go away with a restart/reboot. Imagine the computer systems involved in the Hybrid...yikes!

When the M5s came out with the new version of SMG there was a rash of transmission computer errors, basically on the display between the speedo/Tach this red cog would show up and shut down the car. I sat on the side of the road once talking to BMW service for 20 minutes...got fed up waiting and tried starting it again and it went away. Later it went in to the dealer. I was "lucky", it was always fixed with software updates, though many had to have new computers/trannys.

I've read that the M5 / M6 SMG has been very problematic - blowing clutches, gears, bumpy shifts, etc. You wonder why BMW would suffer their reputation and doesn't come up with a M DCT that can handle 500 hp (like Porsche's 2010 911 TT PDK), and do their owners a favor. I love the v10 engines IMHO, the M5 / M6 SMG is its only fault.
