Any door dings? What\'s the best method for repair?

Been talking to a few venders. Most say they repair by inserting tool on inside of panel and work the ding out, unless....

you have laminate glass. Then the only options are removing inner panel or drilling small hole on interior panel (wont do this).

Any advice? I dont think my 2011 X5M has laminate glass; at least from what I can tell.

I have had a few repaired and it usually boils down to the location of the dent, size of it, was the metal actually stretched, etc. I have had them repaired to the point you would never know it and others could not be fixed. The ones that were fixed the guy used various tools and essentially massaged the dent out from inside the panel. Just be sure you find someone that knows what they are doing.

Thanks. Going to dealership & have their vender do the repair. I figure I am better protected going thru dealer vs separately

Dean @ Sterling BMW Newport Beach took the ding out. Access thru the side where door is hinged. Just had to remove wire plug & inserted tool to massage out ding. Looks like new.
