X6 Wiper blade options?

Hey everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for good, non-BMW, wiper blade options for an X6.

In November, I picked up a pair that appeared as though they would work on the peg system used on the wiper arms, but they wouldn't stay on. I ended up being forced into shelling out $95 for a pair from the dealership.

Now, it's March and the passenger side blade is starting to die. I just spoke with the parts guys and they said it's only guaranteed for 3 months. And I don't really feel like shelling out another $95 for wiper blades.

Has anyone had any luck with other brands? If so, I'd really appreciate some suggestions. Of course the parts guys tell me that no other blades will work....

i have only used OE BMW wipers myself. When I get them before I install I soak them with vinegar to soften them up then rinse them with water. I change them once a year whether they need replacing or not, but that's just what I do. You may want to check out Valeo or Bosch both make OE wipers for Audi and BMW.

Thanks!
I'll take a look and see what's out there from Valeo or Bosch and update the thread if I have any luck.

Wipers are free if you're still under warranty.

Just FYI

Does soaking in vinegar actually soften them up? My wipers work great but make a lot of noise against the windshield.

Yes. Seems to work good. Soak a paper towel or clean terry rag and wipe it on the wiper blade. Let it soak in and do it a couple times. Wait about 10 minutes then rinse with clean water and wipe clean. Some black residue will come off as well. I never get chatter on the windshield and they seem to stay pliable longer.

best deal (at least from time to time), Goodyear frameless blade from Costco, $7 buy one get one free. Even if not on sale beats the dealer price. Here in Seattle I need a set once a year minimum, yep dealer wants $99 for the set OE BMW brand, can't say its 6x better than Goodyear.
