good muffler / exhaust shop in NYC area?

Folks,

so I've been having this idea that will involve bending cutting and welding pieces of my x5 muffler; I have checked the review on the local shops, but 1 star on yel/google was a max;
do you know any good shop that would do custom work on muffler/exhaust ?

Check out "American Muffler" in Westbury, NY (Near Roosevelt Field Mall). They do a lot of work on BMW's and I did my custom quad exhuast on my E60 a few years back.

when it started it was Nick from Kooks. But its seems they are more of a commercial type shop now. When they started the did mandrel bending and custom systems. Give them a call

That's where I got my axle-back done. They're pretty good.

American muffler is where I get my work done. Thats where I got my custom exhaust on my X5, and e55 amg. They also installed my meistershaft on my M5.

Good guys, call ahead for an appointment it will make your life a million times easier!


heres mine used the stock tips back on straight pipes. and replaced the H-pipe with an X-pipe

yeah I've called them up and visited Nick; he seems to be a knowledgeable guy.. he says he will not touch my Taiwanese aftermarket muffler thou ;P
i guess i'll get a custom fitted muffler from them...

Has anyone ever dealt with TKX Performance in Huntington STation, Long Island? If so, how are they? Reliable? Pricey?

I've heard only good things about them, I pass by the shop there frequently (Since I live in Huntington) but I've never had to use them. What kind of work are you looking to get done?

American Muffler in Westbury, NY.

They are the best around. They've done everyone I know exhausts. I've personally had my E55 AMG, my E60 M5, and my X5 exhausts done there.

Now if your talking about a full header back system then maybe a performacne shop like TKX would be better but for custom work and anything header back I would go to american muffler. They are cheap and do great work.

Call ahead for an appointment in either case.
