2010 X5M Purchase

Hi everyone.
I have been looking for a 2010-2013 X5M for about a year now. Going through ads on Autotrader and searching Craigslist I finally found what I was looking for.
A 2010 Black on black with 16680 miles. It was located about a 1000 miles away from me.
My wife and I grabbed a flight and drove the car back over 2 days.
We really enjoyed the trip and driving the X5m back was a blast.
Just a wonderful vehicle.
It needs a good cleaning now, but I'm looking forward to making it look shiny again.
I've learned a lot on this forum and really appreciate everyone who has contributed to it.
Thanks to all

Just took some quick shots after I washed it yesterday. I tried to upload them last night but got an error message. I think they are too large.
I need to figure out how to resize them and then I will post them up. If you guys have any ideas to resize these, I would appreciate it.
Thanks

O.K. I finally figured out how to resize the pictures.
These were just some quick shots after I washed the bugs off.
I'll hopefully get better one's once I get it polished.

Really nice to find a car with such low miles. Good luck on the purchase, and I hope to see mods coming in the future!

Beautiful car , I have the same color . Have you bought the car from dealership. Also does it come with some warranty . If not I would highly suggest researching on warranties as the cost of repair is not cheap

I bought the car from the original owner and did a courtesy trade through the BMW dealer.
I have the full service history on the vehicle.
They had to do all of the recall work before I could buy it. I didn't get a warranty, but I service all my own vehicles anyway.
I don't like going to the dealer.
Thank you for the compliment on the car.

Very nice! I just bought the same year and color combo this past August, so I appreciate your taste!

I'm loving mine so far.

I didn't know before buying it, but I found out after buying my car that it had catless downpipes; I bought it out of state, had a PPI done at a BMW dealer before shipping to me, but they missed quite a few things on it. I believe they are AR design downpipes, which were a nice surprise the first time I started it up.

My local indy shop fixed several things for me and has it running like a top now. Mine has a clean service history at 46k miles and was still in good shape overall, but I wanted everything minor corrected to have a clean slate to start from. While it was at the shop I ended up having a Frank Smith tune from Tuning Tech installed on my car. It's a beast and I'm loving having so much power in an suv!

Are you saying that you are capable of doing any job on this car than you are awesome, even the parts are expensive. I would definitely suggest you to explore some warranty. Recently I had issue in my PCV valve system and turbo coolant aux pump and the repair bill was 3000$ which was paid by my warranty company

Thank you for the advice on a warranty for the X5. I've had warranties on other cars I've owned, but didn't get to use them because they expired before anything went wrong. I'll take my chances with this one.
The injectors, Turbo coolant pump, battery, both safety air bags and fuel pump were all changed before I took delivery of the car. Those are some major parts. As an FYI, the fuel pump is a recall issue but the letter has not been sent out yet by BMW.
I think I can do most of the repairs on this car. I understand that some special tools may be required for some jobs, but I know that I will take more care in repairing the X5 than a technician at the BMW dealer.
Like I said before,I've always done all the service on my vehicles , including my 335d.
Parts are expensive for this vehicle, but its a BMW not a Chevy or Ford.
A lift in my garage is also a bonus

Now I am sure you can handle this, a letter may not be needed for fuel pump recall. If a remedy is available you may contact dealership to complete the recall. Would you mind telling how much you paid for this beauty
