X5 50i MSport 19's RFT tire question

Hi all,

I'm looking to replace my rear 285/45/19 (staggered) Run flat tires. The fronts 255/50/19 are OK at the moment. Tire Rack used to have the Conti option but looks like it's no longer available. I don't want to go back to the Bridgestones but may find that I have to. This is just crazy and it's a common vehicle. Does everyone else have this problem? What do you do?

I would love to get away from the run flats and have more choices but that would mean I would need to potentially carry 2 spares? That doesn't even sound right.

Thanks! I guess i'll give them a shout and confirm availability. Decent prices too.

The rears have always wear out much faster than the fronts and tends to wear from the middle and cupping towards the inside. A couple shops have told me there's not much I can do about it. I've have had an alignment done a few months ago but can't tell if it made a difference since damage was already done?

Because 50i is a very heavy vehicle , the tires will wear out faster unless we have 10-12 ply rated commercial truck tires. Passenger tires will always wear out as they are only 4 ply

Garage List
You only need one spare. The outside diameter is the same regardless of the tire width.

Assuming OEM sizing.
