alcantara standard or option

I don't believe alcantara was ever available on any X5.

Correct, never available as standard or optional equipment on any model X5, including X5M. At least in the U.S.

Well I guess that would explain why I can't find it on any options list or build sheet!!

Yep, as far as I know the only available choice with e70 or e70m is:

An Alcantara steering wheel can be purchased from dealer. The 4.8is is the only x5 I know of that had alcantara interior.
