New X5M Winter Tire Advice
New to forum, just purchased a 2013 X5M, wondering if replacing summer tires with an all season in the same staggered size would be sufficient for the Littleton Colorado Area, not a skier, so just for tooling around town in the winter.

I run staggered stock wheels with pirelli snow & ice. There isn't an all weather tire that can out perform a dedicated winter tire. Just like summer tires vs all season....which is going to be provide more dry grip?

Why run all seasons in winter? Get real snows and your prepared for anything. I ran the contis this past year and they were great. I will add that I also ran a smaller winter rim setup as well. Wide tires, no matter how good, still have too big of a footprint and to few lbs per sq in to be great. Snow and ice need skinnier tires. I went down to 255/45R18's for my winter setup. Definitely didn't look as good, but I was the one pulling people out of the ditch instead of the other way around, which is the position I'd rather be in. This also kept the salt and crap off my nice rims. Just a thought. Good luck.

What size rims did you use for your winter shoes?

I gave up on other solutions and paid $1,700 for the wheels, $175 for another set of TPMS sensors, and $1,000 for a set of square Pirelii Scorpion Winters - 255/50x19 Great set-up, handled Montana winter weather with ease
