Must have options?
Ok I am new to these forums so don't be to rough. I am going to be ordering a new X6 5.0 and was wondering for those of you that have this car what options are a must. What options did you get that you like or don't like. What options to you wish you would have gotten. Or anybody else who may be in the know about what options are a must have.
Thanks |

Welcome to the forum. I would say you must definitely need to get perforated seats w/active ventilation. Great for summer, when the wife doesn't let you blast the A/C. I'm not a fan of the premium pkg. Waste of $.

+1 on the active ventilated seats. The butt massager is great on long trips.
It's pricey, but the active cruise control with stop & go is fantastic especially when you're stuck in traffic. The premium sound is the best car audio system I've ever heard in any car at any price. I used to work at a high end auto sound place, so that's saying something. back up camera is a must. top view is a bonus. Comes in handy, a lot. I have the lane departure warning. It's a waste. I agree that the premium package should be included. Its nice to have anyway. |

I wish I would have gotten the ventilated seats, I always find myself sweating with the Black seats. The adaptive drive is a option that was on the car I test drove, but I did not realize that was what made the car capable of handling curves like they were nothing. Now, options that I have and like a lot are the soft close doors a very inexpensive option and worth it. The technology and sports activity packages with 20" tires without a doubt.

i will say we love the active steering and would definitely recommend it. i disagree with flipside99 (no offense) on the lane depature warning, only because if I had it on a previous car it would have prevented damage to a future car. a family member was driving back from a 3hr trip and was sick and stupidly took sudafed before and started to fall asleep behind the wheel, someone honked but the car got a slight scratch...that family member swears by lane depature, and we all honestly love it... the auto headlights are a nice gadget too but not necessary. would definitely recommend heads up too (when we priced out our x6 35 and 50 they had every option but active cruise, running boards, full napa dash, and rear seat entertainment).
