x4 or used 2013 x6
Hi guys
I am torn between brand new x4 xdrive28i with premium essential package or used 2013 x6 The car in question is http://www.northyorkchrysler.ca/used...058036b088.htm I am going to be trading my current F30 328 xdrive. The net difference after taxes is about the same for both cars. What would you do? |

No question... the driving experience and flat depreciation will not disappoint and point you to the x6, even though it is the 3.5.
Amazing vehicle and the 2013 has the newer technology. Best of luck. |

Will probably use consume more fuel though. But still, it is an X6 and would be worth the extra fuel cost Had the car for quite a while now and it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it! |

One more comment about the vehicle...
Be sure to get the extended warranty if you plan to keep it. I bought it for US$5,200 and probably had more than $20k of repairs. Mine is a 2010 ///M with 130,000 miles and I love driving it every day. In fact I took it for a hard drive yesterday right after I bought the new Continental DWS tires and had an absolute blast. Blew through a great road course and really pushed the vehicle to my limits... not sure what the X6M's limits are yet. It is incredible. Enjoy your toy. |

Not going to be biased but lets look at some pros and cons that are obvious:
X6 Pros: Looks better, more roomy, more power, better fit and finish, 6 vs a 4 model. X6 Cons: More fuel, 13 model vs. 15 model. X4 Pros: Probably more nimble as it is smaller, newer style, better on fuel. X4 Cons: I sat in one and found a lot of the materials are cheap, biggest engine is the 35i. There are probably more I can think of but it comes down to preference, fuel, and size that would make the decision here. |

The 28i is a 2.0 liter 4 banger. It's a good 4 banger and even has some tuning potential but I would rather have the N55 in the X6.

I have an X6M and recently had it in for service and they gave me an X4 35i service loaner. It was nice and all but I felt the interior to be very "cheap" feeling and would go for the X6 without question.

X6 definitely. It's much more sporty and fun to drive. And the bigger engines like 40d, 50d/i and M are so much powered, it will kick your adrenaline right into space. X4 is kinda pussy* and feels extremely cheap.

This is a tough call. It's nice having a nice, brand new vehicle but you sure do pay for it. If you go new, you should keep it long term so the depreciation doesn't hurt you financially.
As far as X4 vs X6 goes, how big of a vehicle do you want? That's really the difference between the two. I'm over 6 feet and I find the X4 a decent size, but still a little small overall. If you are used to a 3 series size, the X4 may be perfect for you. X4 has some newer technology in the Nav system, but nothing that I would pick one over the other about. It's really up to you and what size vehicle you want - the 2.8 engine is a capable engine even though people pick on it because its a 4cyl. A friend has a 528i and it has plenty of acceleration for daily driving. Chris
