If unsure on level to that point, I would suggest to just drain the oil, and add fresh in the approximate amount, and then start it up and idle until you get a reading. Good time to check the filter for any signs of debris or damage as well.

Yeah, was going to do that, thanks. Now it just says it's in the red, every time I start it up, and then I add 1 litre, and it's still at the exact same level in the red, LOL> I'll do an oil change and see what happens.
