Tech forgot to take oil filter gasket off before installing new filter thereby creating a "double gasket phenomenom" whereby oil flies everywhere creating huge mess that I have to clean up now.

This is some bullshit. We used to send our oil tech to clean up any messes at a customers house if he messed up. The fact that YOU have to clean up the mess is poor customer service.

Was it from a dealership? I would complain.

Fair enough. I had double gasketed in the past when I was an oil boy. Went to the guys house in the middle of a snow storm in January to shovel his driveway then clean up the mess.
