08 X5 brake problem
Just curious what could stick in the system and cause no break pedal. Having a problem with the system having no pedal once in a while.
If I idle the car and pump the brake while in drive with car moving about every 20 pumps I get a rare no pedal and back to normal on the next pump. So something has to be sticking but it only ever does it 1 time is always good the next pump. Also car started doing this after sitting in a garage after buying a new car a year or so. Im thinking something in the ABS unit or sticky caliper. Plan on power bleeding the system and greasing the calipers and compressing the piston in each caliper to make sure they are moving freely. |

I tried bleeding the left side of the brakes with my pressure bleeder and was getting very slow bleed at 20psi. Seemed to be pretty good when I first opened it but it slowed down to a drip front and rear.
Can you bleed these cars without activating the ABS pump with a power bleeder? Also the front caliper bleeder won't bleed had to take it all the way out because it was plugged up. And also noticed the wheel was not free turning in the front when I put the wheel back on. I did remove both slide pins and cleaned and greased them. May have a problem with the piston. |

Update, pedal works perfect 90% of the time and loose about 60% of the pedal 10% of the time but still brakes. Master on the way and greased all caliper pins and bleed brakes
