Retrofitting MSport front bumper only

My car got backed up into by a truck and the front bumper is pretty much going to need to be replaced. I currently have the sport line but want to retrofit over to the msport line.

Will it look off balance if I were to only do the front bumper? How much lower are the side skirts and rear bumper?

No it wont look off balanced. There are several members here that have done just the front. I am going to do just the front because I personally like the non-m sport rear bumper better. Not so transformer-ish looking as so many cars are starting to take after. The side skirts if you draw a line to the end of the wheel well bottom actually lines up with the M-sport as well. The M-sport is lower on the front end but not where it meets the wheel well.

I just got this done on my F30. It's a sport line with the M sport bumper conversion. I replaced the grills while I was at it.

Nice looks great! I'm going to do mine for sure now.

I'm planning on getting the front lip as well. Do they make a rear diffuser for the non-m sport?

If you have an opportunity to update to the front M Sport bumper you should definitely do it. Won't look off balanced. We have done it for a few customers and it always looks great.

How much did you guys pay to retrofit the msport bumper? My quote to fix the car with the sport bumper is 1700, but they wanted 3000 for the msport

Hey, what kind of wheels are those? Really look sexy on a Melbourne Red!

That seems a little steep. Paint and install for me was ~$900. I provided the parts and just had them do the labor. The kit was $975 before shipping at getbmwparts.com.

nyczyar beat me to it. What he said. Definitely glad I went with the matching 361s for my F30.

The dealer told me I also needed to replace the springs and many other components for the retrofit to be successful. Anyone know if mod bargains provides these springs?

Springs for what??? The guy from MB told me their kit includes all the parts needed. Just need to give them your VIN number so they can confirm all the parts needed. But not sure what springs you are talking about.

"That is a pretty nice deal, but you will need more than just the bumper cover, meshes and brake ducts.
You also need central duct, both sides deformation elements and the cross member that goes between them, new shock absorber element, wheel housing front cover deflector elements on both sides, and potentially new shrouds for your auxiliary radiators."

That was from another post on this site.

According to MB it comes with everything. Just going by what Alan said to me in an email. Was the other post doing the swap with the MB kit and saying it was missing items? http://www.**********s.com/f30-m-sport-front-bumper.htm

Look on ebay at SelmaUSA, he is here in SO CAL, I just installed the replica rear M-Sport and it is not only identical to the OE but it came pre-finished/primered so the body shop didn't have any prep work other than sanding the primer and it fit and lined up perfectly like OE with all of the necessary and correct parts to install. $479 I recall and includes shipping. My body shop here charged me $375 to paint it, remove old bumper and install new. Selma has the front as well and includes the lower spoiler/splitter.

Front bumper

Legacy Autobody on Via Fabricante in Mission Viejo is the place that did mine. He charged a little more for the front, I think the rear was $379, cant remember exactly since I did the rear first and then front but I remember front being a little more because there was more work to putting it all together. Victor is the owner and I just had him do some paint work on my Father-in-Laws car and again, the work was outstanding. Someone keyed the car on passenger side and he painted both doors, touched up the whole car and buffed it out for $700. It was a metallic paint which is harder to match but he matched it perfectly.

To answer your question, quality is the best. I didnt know them from adam and I was referred to them by my exhaust guy, that is two doors down. Thats why I did the rear first, i didnt know what to expect from the replica M-Sport bumper and I didnt know what to expect from this body shop. So I thought I would try the rear first and if they did a great job, then get the front. The day I picked it up, I made an appt for the front and ordered the front msport. They do a lot of classic cars, hot rods, etc Had a 67 vette in their this week that was being redone from the bottom up. Thats usually a good sign, when you see cars like that but they work on everything, so its not just a custom shop. They do regular repairs, cars in accidents, etc. I'll never go anywhere else thats how good they are and I have only met them since they did my Msport over the last few months.

Another option is Carsmetics in Irvine on Main St. depending on where you're located. (Don't go to other Carsmetics). I went here and they did a terrific job and warranty the paint for life. Great reviews on yelp! I was charged $300 for the front but I installed it myself.

Will get the front from Selma, but not the side and rear.
Side, they have an M3 replica, and rear, they don't have PDC.

Des anyone knows if the side and rear from Bavarian Autosport are any good ?
