Wind deflector catching normal?
Went to the dealership for a few minor issues before my aftermarket warranty expired on a 2012 e70. I figured they would have the quickest turnaround (which they didn't of course).
Anyway, one of those issues was the sunroof failing to close by itself. I had to close by inching it forward which finally let it close about 75% of the time. The only thing they did was re-initialize the sunroof and now the sunroof does close with one press but the wind deflector is definitely catching. While not the end of the world I cant help but think this isnt how its designed to close and will just break in the near future- video below. Should I bring it back in? Icing on the cake is they said the aftermarket warranty company wouldn't cover re-initialization only physical parts or something, but the dealership was kind enough to waive the labor for that (maybe 2 minutes total) and "only" charge me the $175 Diagnostic fee. (They charged the warranty company the same $175 fee for BOTH driver soft close door and passenger rear window shade for a total of $525 in diagnostic fees in one fairly straightforward visit!!!) I know they're called the stealership for a reason, but they exceeded expectations. They're making way more off diagnostic fees than actually doing any work. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...xnMVZmM1dCeHdR Last edited by wcs531; 09-14-2020 at 06:41 PM.. |
