Hideous new wiper blades!!
I just had my 2011 X5 5.0 in for 30k service at my local dealer here in Louisville. They switched out the old wiper blades for new ones. Unfortunately, the new blades are a different design and they are completely hideous and have this big bracket in the center with a metal pin protruding that is much larger than the original part.
What used to be such a nice clean view over my X5 hood is now dominated by these big nasty wiper arm attachments. Anyone know where we can source the older part? What was BMW thinking?!

i had this last november when i took the x5 for service. it left streaks and actually missed huge spots on the windshield. worsen when going 45+mph.
went back to the dealer and asked for replacement similar to the original ones. but they said they stopped making them. so i got online and purchased these: passenger side: http://www.amazon.com/Valeo-900-20-6...dp/B000LVBQBK/ driver side: http://www.amazon.com/Valeo-900-24-5...dp/B000LV7XP8/ at the time it was $9.97 each with free shipping so it was a steal. can't be happier.

They use a generic replacement blade when its replaced under the maintenance plan...they are cheaper and some complain they shutter against the glass under light rain conditions. If you want the original style replacements, the part # is 61-61-0-034-739 (up to 10/11 production date) these are sold as a pair and are similar, they are a single solid blade but are made of a better quality material. BMW does not make the metal frame style blades anymore.
